I got a booth at my first event! I set up my jewelry bar for Origami Owl and got space for Lucy to set up some things she made as well! Mike and Clara came to help us set up. This was at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Old Fashion Bazaar this past weekend. It was really a lot of fun! We met a lot of great people!
Lucy made magnet boards, scarves and keychains. It was awesome watching her—she had to engage people that came to the booth, answer questions, calculate totals, write receipts, make change, calculate tax, then figure out tithe and savings. She did a fabulous job!! The big smile on her face when she put her money in the offering at church was worth it all!! That and the look on her face when she made her first sale!! It was well worth it!
I did ok with OO. I know these events aren’t necessarily about the sales at the event, but the contacts and jewelry bars set up as a result of the event—so I’m hoping to see more profit. Lucy did great with OO too. I was taking the lead (as we learn), but eventually the idea is to hand the reigns over to her (she can be official at 14, so we have a year to train :) It’s easy to get excited about shiny stuff though :)
I’m actually seriously thinking (and praying about this), but we may sign up to be Thirty One consultants too. There is a lot of cross over between the two (jewelry bags, totes to bring things to events, etc) and I love those products as well—and a discount is a wonderful thing :) I have been talking to a consultant that I got to officially meet at this event and I really like her and think I would learn a lot under her mentorship—for both Thirty One and for Origami Owl as well. So we shall see…
If nothing else, we sure do love having a jewelry bar set up in the ready room at all times. The three of us girls go there each day and get to play—picking our chains, lockets, and charms and we get to change it up all the time. It is so much fun! I am hoping to earn enough to add to our collection because the over the heart chain and bracelets look AWESOME!!!
