It’s A Start

I realize as I do these pictures that I don’t think I ever did any before and afters of the school room…  I will try to remember—that has been a HUGE transformation!

The transformation of the garage will take some time—so I will document as we go since it won’t be a all at once project.

I need to dig in the pictures to find a true before—as up against that wall you see below was a work bench, and it was a SERIOUS work bench!!  If a disaster happened that took down the whole house, that work bench would have still been standing!  Mike was able to get it taken apart and half of it is down in his “bunker”, and the other half got disassembled fully and will eventually go into the framing of the walls when we do away with the garage doors.

Just having that bench gone made a huge space difference, but the wall was nasty!  We figure even before completion we can utilize the space while working on it and we are excited about that!  So, Mike and the girls got the wall primed and since they had gone that far it was kind of like, why not just go ahead and paint.  The girls and I had a vision of green on that wall from before even moving in—so there it begins!!

That is GREEN!!!  We love it though!  I read that this area is getting a Habitat Restore shop and I am so excited about that!!  It has been a favorite of ours with past house projects, and I’m thinking it will surely be again.

The second coat got finished up last night, so the next thing will be to set up the furniture that’s already out there, and clean it all up.  Mike is chomping at the bit to start framing out the wall for one of the garage doors, but we have to be careful right now until I get used to his new pay schedule—so we shall see.  In the meantime though, we can really enjoy it more.
